The lorica segmentata was a type of armor used primarily in the Roman Empire at the end of the 1st century B.C. and continuing until the middle of the 3rd century A.D. The Lorica Segmentata is made using a lot of iron plates, tied by strips of leather riveted to the plates. Due to its construction, the Segmentata brings a lot more protection against trauma then the Lorica Hamata, and similar freedom of mouvement. There are three main model of Segmentata, the Kalkriese, the Cordbridge and the Newstead. This model is a Cordbridge segmentata.
