Around the middle of the first Century appears this model of Gladius. It has straigh and parallel sides and its tip is shorter and stronger than other models. It's called Pompei because the first swords of this type were found in this roman city. It was in use until the second century a.D. Total lenght is 70 cm., the blade is 50 cms. long. The grip is made in wood and bone, scabbard in wood covered with red leather. Engraved brass decorations.
