Our replica is based on a beautiful artefact discovered in Alfedena, in the Italian Abruzzi region. This city, which was founded by the Samnites, was a strategic settlement of the Carecini tribe and was later conquered by the Romans in 298 B.C. Such a sword can be found for example on the tomb statue of the Italic "Capestrano Warrior", who wears it directly on his breastplate.
